Kissimmee may not be a familiar name to most people outside of its local area, but what you should know is that Kissimmee hotels may be better to stay in if you are planning to have family-oriented fun in Orlando. That’s because Kissimmee is actually closer to the Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld resorts than the major city of Orlando (which is a more familiar city).
Many Kissimmee hotels are oriented to the family on a vacation with a budget, which is perfectly fine. Of course, if you like your luxury and don’t mind paying for it, there are luxury hotels in the area too!
First off, we have the Seralago Hotel & Suites Main Gate East, a mere 3 miles away from the Disney resort. A family-oriented hotel true to the spirit, it is comfortable yet budget-friendly. Microwaves and mini-fridges are very convenient, and the general store gives you access to the sundries you need plus snacks for your little rascals. A kiddie pool is available in addition to the two heated Olympic-style pools.
Another good choice is the Comfort Suites Maingate East. Each guest gets complimentary access to the Continental hot & cold buffet breakfast, plus free scheduled shuttles to all the major Orlando area theme parks (which are all just minutes away). This hotel also has a kiddie pool and sundries shop. The adjacent Old Town complex is also great for other entertainment activities.
If you want to be even closer to the magic than
Kissimmee Hotels can get you, then the alternative is to book a room at one of the Disney Hotels. Walt Disney World hotels get the highest recommendation from the bosses at Disneyland, so you can be assured of the comfort and convenience. Each Disneyland around the world has its own hotels, but the ones that interest us are those in Orlando.
Walt Disney World Resort offers several hotel options, each with a theme that pervades the décor and style. Actually, the adjective "several" does not do them justice. There are over 30 choices, ranging from the deluxe villas to value-oriented family rooms, and anything in between. Some of the available themes are African Village, 1940s Boardwalk, Frontier Lodge, Beach Club, Polynesian, Caribbean, Movies, Music, and Sports. There’s even a camping ground for those who prefer to go a little rough.
As expected, amenities vary across these many hotels. What is common among all of them however their proximity to the theme park attractions is? In fact, they are arguably parts of the theme parks, given their styling and applied architectural flavors. Shuttle service to the various areas of the resort area is available for all, so getting around is not a problem. It seems that, when you stay at
Disney Hotels, the magic begins as soon as you step into the lobby.
Whichever hotel you stay in, it is a good idea to book early. Peak seasons can get really hectic, so booking early can ensure that you get a room, and there may be early bird discounts too.
